In the last month I rented a van with seven other students, and we went Whanganui, Wellington, Gisborne, and Mount Manganui.
Whanganui river was beautiful, and we took a hike up a hill to see the river.
Wellington is an amazing city. We went on a hike aroun "Riverdale" in the Upper huts and lower hutts (two smaller towns). We took a gondala ride up to the top of wellington wher ethe botanical gardens were. We sat in on a session of Parliment. We went ot a bar called Alice, and it was themed and decorated all around Alice ub Wonderland. We spent an entire day in their free museum, Te Papa. This was my favorite part.
We left Wellington at 4 AM one morning to head to Gisbourn. On th eway we stoped in Napier, where we enjoed the town and went to the oldest Winery in New Zealand. We als stopped at gorgous places to hike along the way. Gisbourn itself was cute, but kind of dead since it is a summer town.
The next day we drove to Mount Manganui. We hiked to the top of the mount, whick is an old volcano. The views were gorgous. The best part was this outcropping of rocks on the beach, that you could only walk to durring low tide. We climbed very close to the waves, and the feeling of being that close to the powerful sea on a gorgous day was amazing. I could have stayed there forever.
